Become a Pilot: The first stage on your journey is to earn your Private Pilot's certificate which authorizes you to fly a single engine aircraft anywhere in the U.S.

My flight training program closely follows the Jeppesen® Private Private Pilot Syllabus used by flight academies nationwide. Your flight training is broken down into three phases each providing an important segment of pilot training.  Each stage builds on previous learning; however, I may select individual lessons out of the order prescribed in the syllabus based on special circumstances, such as weather conditions, available flight time, or skills that need improvement.

Stage 1 is designed to reach your goal of your first solo flight. In this stage, the basic maneuvers are introduced, practiced and reviewed. You will develop the skills,

Stage 2 is designed to reach your goal of safely flying solo cross-country flights.  This phase covers advanced maneuvers such short and soft field takeoffs and landings, radio navigation (VOR, NDB, GPS), and flight reference to instruments and night flying. This portion puts the aircraft to use in its proper role: to go cool places for....lunch! But seriously, most private pilots use their flying privileges for cross country flying for visiting relatives, taking vacations or making business trips.

Stage 3 is designed to reach your goal of gaining the proficiency required for the private pilot practical test.  These flights are devoted to gaining experience and confidence in cross-country operations and reviewing all maneuvers within the syllabus to attain maximum pilot proficiency.
